A-Mountain Sports is teaming up with Champions for Literacy, a national non-profit working to impact childhood literacy through the power of sports. Together, we can inspire and encourage kids to become strong readers.
100% of funds donated are tax deductible, and the funds will be directed in the following manner:
- 80% of the gift goes to A-Mountain Sports to use NIL for good, activating players in local elementary literacy initiatives in Las Cruces
- 20% of the gift, per IRS guidelines, remains with Champions for Literacy to support their mission as they help facilitate local literacy events for NMSU athletes.
Currently, 68% of American 3rd-graders are not reading on grade level.
3rd-grade reading level is monumental for children, as it is one of the most powerful predictors of both high school graduation and career success. Below are some of the sample literacy activations NMSU athletes will engage in.
